Shri Venkateswara Swamy Vari Temple, popularly known as Tirupati Balaji Temple is located in New Delhi at Udhyan Marg, near Birla Mandir. The Delhi Temple is a replica of the Temple in Tirupati and is administered by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
Spread across 1.2 acres, the complex has a Temple of Vishnu avatar Lord Tirupati Balaji, and his consorts Padmavati Amma, popularly known as Mahalakshmi Maa, and Andal Amma, famously known as Dharti Maa.
The Delhi temple of Lord Tirupati Balaji will be organising Brahmotsav from May 15 till May 25, 2019.
Tirupati Balaji Brahmotsav or Sri Venkateswara Swami Vari Brahmotsav is the most important annual festival celebrated at Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala-Tirupati of Chittoor District in Andhra Pradesh, as well as at all TTD Temples across India.
The Brahmotsav is being conducted for 11 days in New Delhi from Wednesday, May 15 to Saturday, May 25, 2019.
During the festival, the Utsav-murti (processional deity) of the presiding deity of Vishnu Avatar Lord Venkateswara, along with his consorts Padmavati Ammavaru (Mahalakshmi Maa) and Aandal Ammavaru (Dharti Maa), are taken on a procession on different Vahans (vehicles) on the streets (Madaveedulu) surrounding the temple.
The celebration attracts pilgrims and tourists from all parts of India and across the world.
During the days of the festival, the religious activities include daily homas and processions of utsava-murti on different Vahanas on mada streets (roads surrounding the Temple). Every evening, the utsava-murtis are decorated with different alankarams.
Brahmotsav is an annual festival in Tirumala which is celebrated to mark Lord Srinivasa’s self manifestation day under the leadership of Brahma. Millions of people throng to Tirumala on this occasion to bath in the divine spirituality of his highness. The eleven days Brahmostav is one of the magnificent festivals being celebrated at Delhi the same way it is celebrated in Tirumala
